The Queer Conservatory of Queens: Celebrating Diversity

The “Queer Conservatory of Queens” series, which began at Terraza 7, promotes concerts by LGBTQ+ musicians, aligning with the mission of Terraza 7 and Acoustic Memories to foster inclusion, cultural dialogue, and social activism through art. Now expanding to other music venues, libraries, and parks, the series provides visibility to the LGBTQ+ community in a diverse and respectful space.

Importance for Artists:

 

1.   Visibility and Inclusion: This series offers LGBTQ+ musicians a stage to share their talents and experiences, in line with Acoustic Memories’ vision of using art for social inclusion and strengthening diverse voices.

2.   Intercultural Dialogue: By highlighting LGBTQ+ artists in a diverse neighborhood like Queens, and in a variety of public and private spaces, the series fosters an exchange of experiences and cultures that helps break down prejudices and build a more united community.
